Emerging Trends in Quality and Safety: New Strategies, Priorities and Directions

Poster Presentation Participants

Posters submitted by trainees (students, residents, and fellows) are eligible to participate in judging for the poster competition, and there will be awards given to the top two trainee poster presentations with the highest scores. Poster judging will occur during the week before the conference (4/25/22-4/28/22) using the VoiceThread platform. Non-trainees should upload their posters using VoiceThread and plan to attend the Zoom breakout rooms during the conference, but will not be eligible for the poster competition. 

Please follow the steps below by Friday, April 15th at midnight to register for the conference and upload your poster to the VoiceThread platform:

  1. If your schedule has changed and you are no longer able to display a virtual poster at the conference, please email adam.floyd@bcm.edu.
  2. If you have not yet had a chance to register for the conference, please register first. You must register in order to present at the conference. Registration is free for all individuals.
  3.   4. Create your poster using the software platform of your choice, and upload the poster as well as your narration using VoiceThread.  Please see attached VoiceThread instructions for more information.  VoiceThread narrations should be no more than 5 minutes in length.
  5. Plan to attend the QIPS Conference on 4/28/22 from 5:00 to 7:30pm to answer questions and discuss your posters during breakout sessions.

After you complete the steps above, you will receive more information about specific logistics regarding the conference, including Zoom breakout room information.

Program Overview

Quality improvement and patient safety span all areas of medicine and healthcare. This is a public health and ethical issue given that medical errors can result in unnecessary deaths, injuries, and expenses. As medical knowledge and technology continue to advance at a rapid pace, it is important that all healthcare providers continue to improve their quality of care and maintain patient safety at the forefront of their practice. As a leader in quality and safety, Baylor College of Medicine is uniquely positioned to begin the regional dialogue regarding quality improvement and patient safety strategies for all learners.
