Needs Statement
This activity will provide an in-depth review of topics related to limb salvage in the setting of critical limb ischemia. Topics covered will include epidemiology, clinical presentation and pathologic spectrum, diagnostic and treatment regimens and prognosis. Particular focus will center on multidisciplinary and evidence-based approach and guideline recommendations.
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, the participant should be able to:
- Identify limb threatening infections via focused clinical findings
- Interpret diagnostic imaging and laboratory findings specific to limb threatening infections
- Apply evidence-based approaches for limb threatening infections to efficiently provide high quality care
- Outline the role of each player of the multidisciplinary team in the treatment protocols for limb threatening infections and how it affects patient outcomes
