Overview

There is a critical need to address the impact of heart disease, the leading cause of mortality in both the United States and worldwide. Despite the clear guidelines established by the American Heart Association (AHA), there is a concerning gap in the evidence-based implementation of guideline-directed medical therapy. Healthcare providers, particularly Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) in cardiology, require consistent exposure and education to navigate the evolving landscape of cardiology-related guidelines. To bridge this gap, this Bootcamp aims to educate APPs on the evaluation and treatment of basic arrhythmias, hyperlipidemia, and heart failure. Given the dynamic nature of cardiovascular care, ongoing education on guideline-based therapies is essential for APPs. The CV APP Bootcamp seeks to fulfill this educational imperative through didactic sessions, interactive case studies, and clinical immersion experiences, fostering both clinical excellence and professional growth for CV APPs within CommonSpirit Health. This series will progressively cover complex topics and provide interactive experiences to enhance the knowledge, competence, and performance of CV APPs.
