Target Audience and Needs
UTHealth® McGovern Medical School faculty (physicians, residents, and other healthcare professionals) need to be regularly updated on effective methods and practices that can enhance their quality of teaching and improve learning outcomes.
Educational Methods
Educational methods will include lectures and group discussions.
Objectives
At the conclusion of the sessions, the participants should be able to:
- Define characteristics of an effective educator based on core teaching competencies.
- Utilize approaches to make teaching more productive.
- Apply methods that can make teaching more interactive so that active learning can take place.
- Develop an interactive teaching session.
Evaluation
Participants may be asked to complete a session evaluation.
