Target Audience and Needs

Physicians, residents, fellows, medical students, and other healthcare professionals need to be regularly updated on advances in research and guidelines regarding the evaluation and multidisciplinary management of various types of cancer.  The series will discuss ways to integrate the information presented into clinical practice.


Educational Methods

Educational methods will include lectures.


Objectives

At the conclusion of the sessions, the participants should be able to:

  • Examine the clinical manifestations and progression, pathologic findings, and treatment responses/adverse effects for various malignant disorders.
  • Assess current diagnostic methods for various malignancies and develop a treatment plan.  
  • Apply advances in research, diagnostics, therapeutics, and cancer epidemiology to improvements in the management of oncology patients.
  • Identify ways to integrate current clinical guidelines and recommendations into practice, while recognizing the factors that affect the quality of medical evidence available to support clinical decision-making.

Evaluation

Participants may be asked to complete a session evaluation.
