Target Audience and Needs

Pathologists, residents, and medical students need to be regularly updated with most recent techniques and guidelines for the diagnosis and management of benign and malignant hematologic disease in order to improve patient outcomes.


Educational Methods

Educational methods will include case presentations and panel discussions.


Objectives

At the conclusion of the sessions, the participants should be able to:

  • Identify and interpret pertinent morphologic and clinical features of benign and malignant hematologic disease.
  • Incorporate the most updated techniques in diagnosing benign and malignant hematologic disease.
  • Determine the impact of pathologic diagnosis on treatment decisions by oncologists.
  • Summarize new discoveries in hematologic diseases and implement them appropriately in clinical practice to improve diagnosis and treatment outcomes.

Evaluation

Participants may be asked to complete a session evaluation.
