NEEDS STATEMENT
Transplantation care is constantly evolving and is an area where healthcare innovation often begins. Because of this there is often a need to support the improvement of comprehension in this healthcare practitioner population. Physicians of all organ specialties should be familiar and well-practiced in solid organ transplantation trends such as novel methods of diagnosing and preventing rejection using cell free DNA, the future of LVAD device, the many consequences of COVID-19, lung failure, the complexities of referral to transplantation, advances in histocompatibility & immunogenetics and the role of the HLA lab as a partner in successful transplantation, the transplant patient’s perspective, imminent death donation, and the perils and practicalities of moving forward with living donation prior to planned withdrawal.
TARGET AUDIENCE
The 7th Annual O.H. "Bud" Frazier Transplant Roundup Virtual Conference will provide education to the medical community to continue optimal health care for transplant patents. This includes physicians, registered nurses, mid-level providers, transplant coordinators, social workers, students, residents, fellows, and other healthcare professionals.
