At the conclusion of the session, the participants should be able to:

  • Acquire interpersonal skills in order to treat all patients ethically with compassion and understanding.

  • Outline the challenges that may arise when examining a patient with a rare diagnosis and special needs.

  • Describe the differences between deafblindness diagnosis and the diagnoses of deafness and blindness.

  • State the specific needs and challenges deafblind patients face.

  • Define the modalities Deafblind patients use to communicate and interact with their surroundings.
