Objectives

At the conclusion of the session, the participants should be able to:

• Discuss the AGS Beers List of Potentially Inappropriate Medications to use in older adults.
• Discuss the renal/hepatic dosing guidelines for common psychotropic medications.
• Describe how to diagnose and treat delirium.
• Identify the physiological changes associated with normal aging.
• Describe common psychiatric diagnoses and treatments in late life including depression, anxiety, sleep disorders, bipolar disorder and psychotic disorders.
