Objectives

At the conclusion of the session, the participants should be able to:

  • Distinguish among the various DSM-5 eating disorder diagnoses.
  • Recognize signs and symptoms of malnutrition and how to assess malnutrition severity.
  • Manage eating disorders and determining when referral is warranted.
  • Recognize barriers to care for under-insured patients with eating disorders, and how to appropriately refer these patients. 
  • Recognize cultural factors that may delay the treatment of patients with eating disorders.
