Objectives
At the conclusion of the session, the participants should be able to:
- Distinguish among the various DSM-5 eating disorder diagnoses.
- Recognize signs and symptoms of malnutrition and how to assess malnutrition severity.
- Manage eating disorders and determining when referral is warranted.
- Recognize barriers to care for under-insured patients with eating disorders, and how to appropriately refer these patients.
- Recognize cultural factors that may delay the treatment of patients with eating disorders.
