Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, the participants should be able to:

• Identify the basic principles and need for antimicrobial stewardship appropriate in outpatient/ambulatory care settings 
• Describe several effective outpatient antimicrobial stewardship interventions implemented across the US
• Recall several recommendations for appropriate antibiotic prescribing in adult/pediatric patients seeking care in the outpatient setting
