Needs Statement

The Humankindness & Health Justice Summit aims to convene national healthcare leaders to explore the transformative power of kindness, compassion, empathy, and trust in fostering a fairer and more compassionate world. With an anticipated attendance of 250 participants from diverse backgrounds including CommonSpirit’s leadership, supporters, community figures, healthcare professionals, and advocates, the summit will provide a platform for sharing insights, networking, and cultivating partnerships to advance equitable healthcare access and outcomes for all.

Educational Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, the participants should be able to:

  • Describe the science of kindness, compassion, empathy and trust.
  • Summarize historical context that has shaped the current landscape of healthcare and inequity.
  • Develop strategies for accelerating improvement in health equity and social justice.
  • Identify opportunities for collaboration and partnership in research and/or programmatic efforts.

Target Audience

This activity is for physicians, physician assistants, residents, medical students, nurses, nurse practitioners, social workers, and administrators.

Evaluation by questionnaire will address program content, presentation, and possible bias.
