Update on Hyperparathyroidism

The Spotlight Series features health practitioners from a wide array of fields sharing their experience and expertise to provide care to patients at Baylor College of Medicine. The purpose of this series is to raise awareness on important health conditions commonly found within the patient population. Each session will aim to advance clinical knowledge, enhance the quality of patient care, and improve treatment outcomes.

Physicians, Fellows, Residents, Physician Assistants, Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Medical Students, and Staff.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, the participant will be able to:

  • Improve the rate of patients with incidental hypercalcemia who receive workup for hyperparathyroidism.

  • Outline clinical benefits of parathyroidectomy in patients with hyperparathyroidism.
