ACG Clinical Guideline: Focal Liver Lesions
Needs Statement
Updating practicing physicians and other health professionals in both the diagnosis and management of gastrointestinal and liver diseases/conditions is essential to providing quality care leading to improved patient outcomes. This activity is designed to increase knowledge,improve competence, and enhance performance of the physician learners in practice to ultimately better patient care and outcomes in gastroenterology.
Target Audience
Gastroenterologists, hepatologists, internists, primary care physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, fellows, medical trainees and students in the field of Gastroenterology.
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of the session, the participants should be able to:
- Explain the importance of triple phase imaging in diagnosing focal liver lesions.
- Differentiate between various types of lesions based on imaging results.
- Identify management strategies for benign liver lesions, including hemangiomas and focal nodular hyperplasias.
- Discuss the treatment and monitoring approaches for hepatic adenomas and the importance of closely monitoring hepatic adenomas during pregnancy.
