- Abstract submission is open to faculty, nurses, other health professionals, trainees, and students from all TMC institutions
- All abstracts will be peer reviewed by faculty experts in quality improvement and patient safety.
- The highest rated abstracts will be selected for oral presentations during the conference. The authors of other accepted abstracts will be invited to present their findings during the poster session.
- Please note that submissions from chief residents in quality and safety will be scored as faculty submissions.
- Eligible physicians and physician assistants may be eligible to earn MOC Part 4 credit/points or NCCPA Category 1 PI-CME.

Poster Presentation Participants
Eligible physicians and physician assistants can earn MOC Part 4 credit/points or NCCPA Category 1 PI-CME credit, respectively, as follows: 1) for authoring/co-authoring a qualified QI Poster (featuring an improvement project in which they participated) presented at the conference, or 2) for participating in the improvement project (non-poster authors) featured on a qualified QI Poster presented at the conference.
IMPORTANT: Interested physicians/physician assistants should review submission AND poster eligibility criteria (link below). Credit request must be submitted directly by the physician/PA seeking credit, immediately following the conclusion of the conference.
If approved, MOC Part 4 (Improvements in Medical Practice) credit/points are issued to physicians by participating Member Boards of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS). Likewise, NCCPA Category 1 Performance Improvement Continuing Medical Education (PI-CME) credit is issued to physician assistants by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).

Join us for the Baylor College of Medicine 12th Annual Quality Improvement and Patient Safety Conference, an event dedicated to advancing healthcare quality through innovation and collaboration. As medical errors continue to pose significant public health and ethical challenges, healthcare providers must prioritize patient safety and continuously enhance their quality of care.
This year’s theme, “High Value Care: Patient Experience and Provider Experience,” underscores the need to lead change across clinical systems in ways that advance quality improvement and produce measurable gains in patient health outcomes. Attendees will gain insights from expert-led sessions, real-world case studies, and discussions on providing safe, effective, and patient-centered services into clinical practice.

CANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY
Requests for registration refunds must be in writing and received by the Division of Continuing Professional Development (DCPD) at least 10 business days before the activity begins. The date the request is received by the DCPD will be considered the cancellation date. Requests received after the refund deadline will not be processed. Cancellations are subject to a $50 administrative fee deducted from the registration fee paid to cover guarantees and other expenses. Requests should be emailed to the DCPD [email protected].
The DCPD reserves the right to cancel activities, not less than 10 business days before the scheduled date, if extenuating circumstances make it necessary. Registrants will be notified at the contact email indicated on the registration form. If an activity is cancelled, DCPD’s liability is limited to the registration fee paid. Note: If payment is made by check, a social security number is required to process the refund.
