Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, the participants should be able to:

  • Review current terminology, statistics, and trends related to youth suicide.
  • Identify key risk and protective factors associated with adolescent suicide.
  • Apply standardized suicide risk assessment tools to evaluate suicide risk.
  • Differentiate levels of suicide risk and determine appropriate immediate safety interventions.
  • Describe the purpose and clinical application of the SAFE-T framework and the SAFETY-A intervention.
