Needs Statement
Learners require education that enhances their awareness of emerging evidence, strengthens clinical decision-making, and supports the application of evidence-based practices in women's health. Educational needs include improving recognition of the relationship between breast arterial calcifications and cardiovascular disease risk; current approaches to bone density and body composition assessment; the appropriate use of genetic testing and counseling pathways; evidence-based applications of artificial intelligence in clinical practice; and contemporary strategies for identifying and managing menopause-related symptoms and long-term health effects.
Learners also need greater proficiency in interpreting diagnostic findings, communicating risks and recommendations to patients and referring providers, integrating new technologies into clinical workflows, and implementing evidence-based screening, referral, and management strategies. By addressing these needs, this series seeks to promote more consistent application of best practices, strengthen care coordination, support earlier intervention for at-risk patients, and improve patient-centered outcomes across the continuum of women's healthcare.
Educational Methods
Educational methods will include lectures, case presentations, literature review, and panel discussion.
Objectives
At the conclusion of the sessions, the participants should be able to:
- Integrate emerging evidence in women's health into clinical practice, including advances in breast imaging, cardiovascular risk assessment, genetic risk evaluation, bone health, and menopause management.
- Apply evidence-based approaches to the assessment, diagnosis, counseling, referral, and management of women at risk for cardiovascular, hereditary cancer, skeletal, metabolic, and menopause-related health conditions.
- Evaluate and appropriately incorporate evolving technologies and diagnostic tools, including artificial intelligence, genetic testing, bone density assessment, and body composition analysis, to support clinical decision-making and patient care.
- Implement multidisciplinary, patient-centered strategies that enhance care coordination, facilitate early risk identification and intervention, and improve health outcomes for women across the continuum of care.
Evaluation
Participants may be asked to complete a session evaluation.
