Target Audience and Needs
Anesthesiologists, certified registered nurse anesthetists, nurse practitioners, certified anesthesiology assistants, and anesthesiology fellows and residents need to receive regular updates on recent advances in the ever-evolving field of cardiovascular anesthesiology. The aim of the series is to review past and current primary literature in the field, evaluate the latest developments in clinical research and anesthetic techniques, and recognize the historical context out of which new treatment paradigms emerge. The series also aims to expand clinical knowledge, disseminate evidence-based clinical practices, enhance the quality of cardiovascular anesthesiology care, and improve patient outcomes.
Educational Methods
Educational methods will include literature review.
Objectives
At the conclusion of the sessions, the participants should be able to:
- Identify the research question the selected article seeks to answer.
- Evaluate whether the research presented in the article adequately answers the identified question.
- Decide whether and how the practice of Anesthesiology ought to be modified based on the research results.
Evaluation
Participants may be asked to complete a session evaluation.
