Target Audience and Needs

Nephrologists, current and former nephrology fellows and residents, medical students, and healthcare providers in related disciplines need to receive regular updates on recent advances in the field of nephrology.  Select clinical cases will be discussed interactively to promote group learning and disseminate evidence-based clinical practices. The aim of the series is to expand clinical knowledge, inform clinical decision-making, enhance the quality of nephrology care, and improve patient outcomes.


Educational Methods

Educational methods will include case presentations and literature review.


Objectives

At the conclusion of the sessions, the participants should be able to:

  • Recognize common manifestations of different glomerulonephritides.
  • Demonstrate greater understanding of the basic pathophysiology of common kidney diseases.
  • Discuss the differential diagnosis of common electrolyte abnormalities encountered in clinical practice.
  • Identify clinical advances and determine how they could improve the standard of care in nephrology practice.

Evaluation

Participants may be asked to complete a session evaluation.
