Target Audience and Needs
Physicians, residents, fellows, and other healthcare professionals need to be regularly updated on issues related to social justice and equity. The series will examine how the issues intersect with the delivery of healthcare. It will also complement patient care education and training by focusing on the social and cultural context in which patients live and are served.
Educational Methods
Educational methods will include lectures, case presentations, and panel discussion.
Objectives
At the conclusion of the session, the participants should be able to:
- Identify relevant social justice issues affecting healthcare practice.
- Assess how social justice issues influence the health and well-being of patients.
- Implement strategies to address social justice and equity issues encountered in the workplace.
Evaluation
Participants may be asked to complete a session evaluation.
