Target Audience and Needs
Hematology-oncology specialists, advanced practice providers, fellows, residents, medical students, and healthcare providers in related disciplines need to receive regular updates on advances in hematology-oncology research and clinical best practices. The series aims to advance the knowledge of learners, facilitate improvements in the treatment of hematological malignancies, enhance the quality of hematology-oncology care, reduce treatment-related morbidity and mortality, and improve patient outcomes.
Educational Methods
Educational methods will include lectures, case presentations, literature review, and panel discussion.
Objectives
At the conclusion of the sessions, the participants should be able to:
- Improve case-based medical knowledge applicable to patient care, such as abnormal anatomic structures, unusual presentations of common conditions, and typical and novel complications of treatment.
- Analyze the systemic issues contributing to medical errors or treatment complications.
- Contribute to the institutional quality improvement effort to reduce complications and preventable adverse events.
- Apply increased knowledge and skills to improve collaborative, interprofessional care and patient outcomes.
Evaluation
Participants may be asked to complete a session evaluation.
