Target Audience and Needs

Physicians, residents, fellows, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals involved in the care of neonates need to be regularly updated on the best strategies for reviewing, analyzing, and applying medical literature to clinical practice.  The series also aims to increase knowledge of the learners with the most current evidence related to neonatal disease processes and diagnostic and treatment modalities to enhance the quality of care and improve patient outcomes.


Educational Methods

Educational methods will include literature review.


Objectives

At the conclusion of the sessions, the participants should be able to:

  • Discuss the implications of recently reported basic science and clinical research trials in diabetes.
  • Perceive the difference and benefits of available agents towards the treatment of endocrine disease.
  • Identify and demonstrate awareness of competing professional responsibilities which impact the level of patient care.
  • Translate clinical practice guidelines and therapeutic recommendations into clinical practice.
  • Acquire a working knowledge of endocrine surgery, focusing on the endocrine glands, including the thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal glands, endocrine pancreas, and neuroendocrine glands.

Evaluation

Participants may be asked to complete a session evaluation.
