Target Audience and Needs

Pediatric hematology, oncology, and bone marrow transplantation physicians, residents, fellows, and medical students need to receive regular updates on advances in the diagnosis and management of patients with hematologic disorders and malignancies and associated complications. The series aims to broaden the knowledge base of learners in these topic areas and improve their competencies to enhance the patient care experience and outcomes.


Educational Methods

Educational methods will include lectures, case presentations, literature review, and panel discussion.


Objectives

At the conclusion of the sessions, the participants should be able to:

  • Review guidelines relevant to the clinical practice of pediatric hematology, oncology, or bone marrow transplantation.
  • Describe recent updates regarding the biology of pediatric hematologic disorders and malignancies and of bone marrow transplantation.
  • Apply clinical updates regarding the treatment of pediatric patients with hematologic disorders and malignancies, including bone marrow transplantation.
  • Explain changes in clinical care that can prevent future adverse events resulting from the treatment of pediatric patients with hematologic disorders and malignancies.

Evaluation

Participants may be asked to complete a session evaluation.
