Target Audience and Needs
Pediatric emergency medicine physicians, residents, fellows, and advanced practice professionals need to be updated about new advances in the clinical and research areas for the diagnosis, treatment, and evidence-based management of patients who present to the Emergency Center.
Educational Methods
Educational methods will include lectures and literature review.
Objectives
At the conclusion of the sessions, the participants should be able to:
- Formulate a research question in the field of pediatric emergency medicine that is novel and builds on previous studies by successfully navigating previous literature.
- Summarize the use of statistical tests and interpret the results of research studies correctly.
- Develop a research study, interpret the results, and create different methods for dissemination of the results (abstracts, posters, manuscripts, etc.).
- Discuss how to implement QI and all the components that go into process mapping and gap analysis.
Evaluation
Participants may be asked to complete a session evaluation.
