Target Audience and Needs

Pulmonologists, radiologists, pathologists, other physician specialists, fellows, residents, and medical students involved in the care of pediatric patients with acute and complex pulmonary diseases need to receive regular updates on the pathophysiology, evaluation, treatment, and prevention of these diseases.  Atypical and typical cases of pediatric respiratory disorders will be used as an impetus for discussion.  A multi-disciplinary approach will be taken to review the cases, including discussion of radiologic and histopathologic changes.  The aim of the series is to expand clinical knowledge, increase competence, enhance the quality of care, and improve patient outcomes.

Educational Methods

Educational methods will include case presentations.

  • Review the typical treatment and outcomes of these diseases.
  • Apply the most recent guidelines for assessment and management of these diseases, when available.
