Hospital Medicine Literature Review 2018
In this presentation Drs. Zavan Sargsyan and Stephanie Sherman, Assistant Professors of Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine, review articles published in scientific journals in 2018 that could potentially change clinical practice. Drs. Sargsyan and Sherman cite Journal Watch as the main source of these articles. The articles they review address a wide range of topics including anticoagulation therapy in cancer patients, the use of stigmatizing language in medical documentation, and the safety of MRI with contrast in patients with kidney disease. In the last part of the presentation, the speakers and the audience discuss the totality of the evidence that was presented and its whether it might impact on clinical guidelines.
