In the Time of COVID: What We Should Know

In this presentation, Dr. Laila Woc-Colburn, M.D., DTM&H discusses the epidemiology and projections of the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as clinical presentations and potential therapeutics. She shares current statistics and studies that have been recently published regarding cases of Covid-19. All information is current as of April 8, 2020, and is subject to change as the pandemic continues.

Target Audience

This CME/CE activity is designed to meet the educational needs of physicians, residents, fellows, and community providers.

Faculty and trainees within the Department of Medicine who are involved in the care of patients need to be regularly updated with the recent advances and guidelines in the fields of internal medicine and quality improvement to increase clinical knowledge, and to implement the advances and guidelines in clinical practice to enhance the quality of patient care and outcomes.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of the session, the participants should be able to:

  • Illustrate the current epidemiology of COVID-19 and projections of its spread.

  • Recognize the clinical presentation and outcomes of COVID-19.

  • Describe potential therapeutics for COVID-19.
