Target Audience and Needs
Faculty, physicians, nurse practitioners, fellows, residents, and students involved in geriatric and palliative medicine need regular updates on the latest geriatric and palliative medicine literature, research, and standards. This series is designed to focus on providing updates and a platform for discussion and critical thinking surrounding geriatric and palliative care topics for application to practice, with the goal of improving quality of life and preserving physical, social, psychological, and functional domains of healthy living in the elderly.
Educational Methods
Educational methods will include lectures, case presentations, and literature review.
Objectives
At the conclusion of the sessions, the participants should be able to:
- Critically evaluate various concepts in geriatric and palliative medicine literature.
- Discuss the benefits and challenges of an interdisciplinary team structure in the care of geriatric and palliative patients.
- Apply the latest geriatric and palliative data in evaluation, management, and treatment to clinical practice.
Evaluation
Participants may be asked to complete a session evaluation.
