Target Audience and Needs

Physicians, residents, fellows, medical students and other healthcare professionals from different ophthalmology specialties need to be regularly updated on changes that occur both inside and outside their specialty, as well as general ophthalmologists on improvements in care within all specialties. The Basic and Clinical Science Course (BCSC) from the American Academy of Ophthalmology is used as a guideline for coverage of the educational material for this series. BCSC draws on a foundation of scientific research and clinical expertise and covers everything from basic anatomy, optics and pathology to specialized topics such as retina, glaucoma and cataract.
