Target Audience and Needs

Physicians, residents, fellows, and other healthcare professionals in the Department of Surgery, Division of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, need to be regularly updated on the guidelines and advances within the field of plastic surgery. The series aims to increase knowledge of the learners in various topic areas, to foster implementation of advance techniques in plastic surgery, and to improve the quality of patient care and outcomes.

Educational Methods

Educational methods will include lectures, case presentations, literature review, and panel discussion. 

Objectives

At the conclusion of the sessions, the participants should be able to:

• Apply fundamental plastic surgery knowledge, techniques, and skills to solve unanticipated surgical complications.
• Evaluate medical errors, complications, and unanticipated outcomes identified through case reviews to improve plastic surgery practice and outcomes.
• Apply novel approaches in addressing plastic surgery-related and patient safety issues.
• Utilize evidence-based guidelines to improve clinical and surgical processes.
   

Evaluation

Participants may be asked to complete a session evaluation.
