Target Audience and Needs
Clinical physicians, fellows, residents, medical students, and other patient-care staff such as radiologists, pathologists, and nurse practitioners need to be regularly updated with new research and guidelines regarding the evaluation and multidisciplinary management of gastrointestinal and genitourinary cancers and implement them in clinical practice to enhance the quality of patient care and improve patient outcomes.
Educational Methods
Educational methods will include case presentations and panel discussion.
Objectives
At the conclusion of the sessions, the participants should be able to:
- Discuss the various clinical manifestations and pathologic findings and updates in the staging and diagnostic criteria for gastrointestinal and genitourinary (GI/GU) cancers using case presentations.
- Apply advances in GI/GU cancer diagnosis and treatment to improve patient outcomes in clinical practice.
- Recognize the role of multidisciplinary care in the management of patients with cancer and incorporate a multidisciplinary team when caring for patients with GI/GU cancer in practice.
Evaluation
Participants may be asked to complete a session evaluation.
