OverviewThe transoral approach to thyroid and parathyroid removal is currently the only surgical option that does not leave a visible cutaneous scar. Additionally, this approach allows access to the bilateral central neck compartments, requires minimal additional instrumentation, and has a complication rate comparable to the traditional open approach.
