Needs Statement

The field of surgery continues to change and develop for patient care, research and education. With growing technology through new studies from research to innovative work, the quality of patientcare is of highest value and need for each surgeon to stay update to date on current trends and outcomes. It is imperative for surgeons to stay abreast from the surgical findings from etiology, abnormalities, diseases, pathology to the state of the art surgical treatment for the patient. With this, surgeons will continue to broaden their research knowledge and extend this knowledge into their teaching of residents, fellows, and medical students. The invited speakers to this program are experts in their field of surgery and/or specialty. The goal of this meeting is to bring together expert surgeons in their surgical field that are world renowned to share this knowledge and expertise with our alumni and department. This meeting will promote the latest surgical knowledge, techniques, research, and education to those attending, which will in return these surgeons will bring this knowledge of information back to their practice groups and/or departments to disseminate further increasing the continual knowledge from this meeting as well as share with others and their specialties.

Target Audience

Physicians, Fellows, Residents, Physician Assistants, Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Medical Students, and Staff. 

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of the conference, participants should be able to:

  • Apply research and its studies for quality improvement in the surgical specialty.
  • Outline new techniques through innovation related to findings in research and patient care outcomes.
  • Discuss new approaches and requirements to education and training the next generation of learners.
  • Modify current practices into efficient business practices today and innovation.

Evaluation by questionnaire will address program content, presentation, and possible bias.

CANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY

Requests for registration refunds must be in writing and received by the Division of Continuing Professional Development (DCPD) at least 10 business days before the activity begins. The date the request is received by the DCPD will be considered the cancellation date. Requests received after the refund deadline will not be processed. Cancellations are subject to a $50 administrative fee deducted from the registration fee paid to cover guarantees and other expenses. Requests should be emailed to the DCPD [email protected].

The DCPD reserves the right to cancel activities, not less than 10 business days before the scheduled date, if extenuating circumstances make it necessary. Registrants will be notified at the contact email indicated on the registration form. If an activity is cancelled, DCPD’s liability is limited to the registration fee paid. Note: If payment is made by check, a social security number is required to process the refund.
