Needs Statement
Clinicians involved in neonatal care require ongoing education to remain current with rapidly evolving research, national guidelines, and best practices. There is a critical need to deepen knowledge of emerging evidence, enhance competence in applying this knowledge to complex neonatal scenarios, and improve performance through the implementation of evidence-informed protocols. This includes refining diagnostic and therapeutic decision-making, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, and engaging in quality improvement initiatives that translate research into measurable improvements in patient outcomes. To address these needs, this series provides a comprehensive review of perinatal physiology and neonatal care, enabling participants to discuss presented topics, assess ventilatory management, identify nutritional and metabolic challenges, and integrate updated clinical information into daily practice.
Educational Methods
Educational methods will include lectures.
Objectives
At the conclusion of the sessions, the participants should be able to:
- Describe updated clinical guidelines and evidence-based strategies for managing common and complex pediatric and neonatal conditions.
- Summarize the evidence in appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic decision-making based on current literature and best practices.
- Implement standardized, evidence-informed protocols and care pathways into clinical practice, with a focus on improving patient outcomes and reducing variability in care.
- Engage in interdisciplinary case discussions to enhance team-based learning and foster collaborative approaches to complex neonatal care.
Evaluation
Participants may be asked to complete a session evaluation.
