Target Audience and Needs

Nephrologists, nephrology fellows and residents, medical students, and healthcare providers in related disciplines need to receive regular updates on recent advances in the field of nephrology.  Expert presentations on new and landmark studies will be used as an impetus for discussion and critical appraisal.  The aim of the series is to expand clinical knowledge, inform clinical decision-making, disseminate evidence-based clinical practices, enhance the quality of nephrology care, and improve patient outcomes.


Educational Methods

Educational methods will include literature review and panel discussion.


Objectives

At the conclusion of the sessions, the participants should be able to:

  • Evaluate new and classic research studies in nephrology.
  • Describe the basic study design, methods, findings, and limitations of a research study.
  • Demonstrate how research findings can affect clinical decision-making and patient management in a clinical context.

Evaluation

Participants may be asked to complete a session evaluation.
