Identity, Environment, and Health: Partnering with Native American and Indigenous Communities in Research
Needs Statement
Physicians, fellows, residents, medical students and other healthcare providers and trainees across medical specialties encounter health equity issues. The series serves as a forum to discuss these issues by covering select topics such as health disparities, social determinants of health, cultural sensitivities, linguistic competencies, and social justice. It aims to broaden the awareness of learners in these topic areas and provide strategies to address health equity issues as they arise.

Physicians, residents, fellows, medical students, and other healthcare providers.
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, the participant should be able to:
Examine the role of identity, culture, and environment in health outcomes.
Reframe historically race-based approaches to medicine and health-focused research.
Develop strategies to engage in community research and clinical problem-solving.
