NEEDS STATEMENTPhysicians, Physicians Assistants and Advanced Nurse Practitioners need to be educated on changes made to the evaluation and management guidelines by the American Medical Association (AMA) that will go into effect January 1, 2023. Evaluation and management services are the bulk of services provided by these providers in many different types of facilities. This education is designed to educate the providers on the changes to the guidelines and provide examples to help with the implementation of these changes.

Needs StatementDespite overwhelming evidence that active learning pedagogies produce better educational outcomes, traditional lecturing remains the dominant mode of instruction in medical education. This workshop and presentation will be focused on educating medical instructors on the benefits of active learning strategies. The goal is to improve attendees’ knowledge of the benefits of active learning for teaching medical students and trainees as well as to strive toward competence in adopting active learning methods in their own teaching practice.
