Target Audience and Needs

Obstetricians, maternal-fetal medicine specialists, neonatologists, anesthesiologists, cardiologists, psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, fellows, residents, and medical students need to receive regular updates on advances in obstetrics and maternal-fetal medicine. The series will use discussions of complex pregnancies to review the function of collaborative multidisciplinary teams in the delivery of safe, evidence-based patient care to both mother and fetus.  The series aims to advance the knowledge of learners, aid the formulation of detailed care plans, and improve patient outcomes.

Educational Methods

Objectives

At the conclusion of the sessions, the participants should be able to:

  • Recognize the diagnostic components needed to properly evaluate complex pregnancies.

  • Promote open communication among multidisciplinary care team members to formulate strategies to coordinate obstetric care and address potential challenges in labor and delivery.
