Target Audience and Needs

Dermatologists, medical oncologists, surgical oncologists, head and neck surgeons, radiologists, pathologists, radiation oncologists, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, fellows, residents, and medical students need to receive regular updates on advances in systemic cancer therapies and developments in the surgical and radiotherapeutic management of skin and soft tissue cancer.  The tumor board aims to advance the knowledge of learners, promote a collaborative approach to treatment, enhance the quality of skin and soft tissue cancer care, and improve patient outcomes.


Educational Methods

Educational methods will include case presentations, literature review, and panel discussion.


Objectives

At the conclusion of the sessions, the participants should be able to:

  • Discuss and generate evidence-based treatment strategies for patients with melanoma, skin cancer, or sarcoma.
  • Describe the effects of evidence-based care on admission rates, length of hospital stay, and other quality measures.
  • Incorporate effective communication techniques in day-to-day clinical practice within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Develop and implement effective intervention strategies based on expected and unexpected patient outcomes.

Evaluation

Participants may be asked to complete a session evaluation.
