Target Audience and Needs

Neurosurgeons, neuro-oncologists, neuroradiologists, neuropathologists, radiation oncologists, fellows, residents, and healthcare professionals in related disciplines need to receive regular updates on advances in neuroscience, developments in the surgical and radiotherapeutic management of brain tumors, and the evidence-based results of clinical trials.  The tumor board aims to use a multidisciplinary team approach and complex case reviews to advance the knowledge of learners, promote the personalization of treatment plans, enhance the quality of brain cancer care, and improve patient outcomes.

Educational Methods

Educational methods will include case presentations, literature review, and panel discussion.

At the conclusion of the sessions, the participants should be able to:

  • Identify different types of brain tumors based on their radiographic features.
  • Discuss the pathologic features of each type of brain tumor.
  • Review and evaluate the surgical and radiotherapeutic treatment options for brain tumors.
  • Recognize how a multidisciplinary team can improve the medical care of patients with brain tumors.
