Target Audience and Needs
Clinical physicians, physician-scientists, basic scientists, other healthcare professionals, and trainees require regular updates on mechanisms, novel therapeutics, and medical and surgical technologies to manage cardiovascular diseases and cardiovascular basic, translational, clinical science. The series aims to expand the knowledge of learners specifically with regard to the pathophysiology and physiology of cardiovascular disease, the mechanisms of cardiovascular science and clinical studies, the analysis and interpretation of results, and the integration of findings into science and clinical practice. A focus of the series will be to discuss the basic science underlying cardiovascular clinical studies and professional guidelines and thereby promote a wider dissemination of this information to achieve evidence-based patient care.
Educational Methods
Educational methods will include lectures.
Objectives
At the conclusion of the session, the participants should be able to:
- Review novel clinical and basic cardiovascular research studies.
- Identify cutting-edge therapeutics and medical and surgical technologies to manage cardiovascular diseases.
- Develop strategies to disseminate cardiovascular research findings to clinical physicians, physician-scientists, basic scientists, other healthcare professionals, and trainees.
- Integrate evidence-based research findings into clinical practice.
Evaluation
Participants may be asked to complete a session evaluation.
