Target Audience and Needs
Internal medicine faculty and residents need regular updates on research advances and treatment innovations for a wide range of medical conditions. This lecture series aims to fulfill the educational needs of both faculty and residents, as well as the curriculum for the internal medicine residency program. The American Board of Internal Medicine exam blueprint list, the results of in-service exams and performance reviews, feedback from preceptors, and the NEJM Resident 360 framework for subspecialty rotations will inform session topics. Quality metrics and faculty development needs will also influence topic choice. Overall, the series aims to expand the knowledge of learners, disseminate clinical best practices in internal medicine, enhance the quality of healthcare, and improve patient outcomes.
