Target Audience and Needs
Physicians, residents, fellows, and medical students need to receive regular updates on advances in neurosurgery to manage patients with neurological disorders. Emerging discoveries in neurosurgical research and clinical practice affect patient outcomes, patient satisfaction, and practice patterns. The series will address the latest evidence-based research and best practice recommendations and provide practical examples learners need to assess and integrate medical knowledge into clinical decision-making.
Educational Methods
Educational methods will include lectures and case presentations.
Objectives
At the conclusion of the session, the participants should be able to:
- Implement a comprehensive approach to diagnosis and surgical treatment of neurological disorders.
- Utilize evidence-based practice guidelines and standards relevant to neurosurgery.
- Improve patient care through discussion and evaluation of transitional ongoing research in neurosurgery.
- Identify cost-effective options by reviewing the pros and cons of specific treatments based on practice outcomes.
- Evaluate safety data, patient-centered data, and cost base to optimize patient care.
- Recognize opportunities to overcome system challenges to improve patient outcomes.
