Target Audience and Needs
Family Medicine physicians, residents, medical students, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, and behavioral therapists need to receive regular updates on a wide range of topics related to the spectrum of human diseases encountered in the field. The aim of the series is to address evolving standards in the field by implementing evidence-based practice recommendations and by facilitating optimal care quality in settings with scant resources.
Educational Methods
Educational methods will include lectures, case presentations, literature review, and panel discussion.
Objectives
At the conclusion of the sessions, the participants should be able to:
- Apply current evidence-based guidelines to improve the management of chronic disorders.
- Implement new screening guidelines for preventable diseases.
- Discuss the methodologies needed to implement quality care and achieve the goals of patient-centered practice.
- Create a safe environment for sharing information regarding practice challenges, wellness needs, interdisciplinary skill building, and ethical considerations.
- Use evidence-based metrics and practice recommendations to improve the quality of patient care.
Evaluation
Participants may be asked to complete a session evaluation.
