Target Audience
This activity is designed for ophthalmologists and ophthalmology residents and fellows.
Needs Statement

There is a need for ophthalmologists and trainees to strengthen their ability to recognize and manage complex and uncommon ophthalmic conditions, particularly those that may be missed or misdiagnosed because of limited clinical exposure or evolving diagnostic and treatment options. Enhanced awareness of advanced diagnostic techniques, evidence-based therapies, and early intervention strategies is essential to improve patient outcomes and prevent complications such as vision loss, corneal scarring, and poor quality of life. The goal of this series is to raise awareness of more complex conditions. With this increased awareness, these patients can be treated earlier and avoid the negative consequences from downstream care.

Educational Methods

Educational methods will include lectures and case presentations.

Objectives

At the conclusion of the sessions, the participants should be able to:

  • Discuss the findings from case studies for various disease conditions and the appropriate work-up required.
  • Identify the appropriate treatment modalities for a variety of ophthalmic conditions.
  • Apply evidence-based strategies and approaches in clinical practice to enhance patient care and outcomes.

Evaluation

Participants may be asked to complete a session evaluation.
