Target Audience and Needs

Pulmonary critical care physicians and fellows, internal medicine residents, medical students, advanced practice providers, and other healthcare providers in related disciplines need to receive regular updates on advances in pulmonary, critical care, and sleep medicine.  A multi-disciplinary approach and expert opinion will be used to evaluate cases of common and complex pulmonary and sleep disorders.  The aim of the series is to expand clinical knowledge, disseminate evidence-based research findings, promote clinical best practices, enhance the quality of pulmonary and critical care, and improve patient outcomes.

Educational Methods

Educational methods will include lectures, case presentations, and literature review.

At the conclusion of the sessions, the participants should be able to:

  • Analyze recently released clinical practice guidelines and recommendations for implementation into practice.
  • Interpret the latest data in basic, translational, and clinical research as they relate to common and complex pulmonary, critical care, and sleep disorders.
  • Develop diagnostic and treatment approaches for pulmonary, critical care, and sleep disorders.
  • Apply new evidence-based treatment modalities in clinical practice.

Participants may be asked to complete a session evaluation.
