Target Audience and Needs
Anesthesiologists, certified registered nurse anesthetists, student registered nurse anesthetists, certified anesthesiology assistants, and anesthesiology fellows, residents, and medical students need to receive regular updates on new advances in anesthesiology research and technologies. Case presentations will serve as a springboard to review anesthesia-related adverse events, identify potential quality-improvement initiatives, and foster a culture of safety. The series aims to expand clinical knowledge, improve competence, enhance the quality of anesthesiology care, and improve patient outcomes.
Educational Methods
Educational methods will include case presentations and literature review.
Objectives

- Analyze the systemic issues contributing to medical errors or treatment complications.
- Contribute to the institutional quality improvement effort to reduce complications and preventable adverse events.
- Apply increased knowledge and skills to improve collaborative, interprofessional care and patient outcomes.
