Target Audience and Needs

Physicians, faculty, residents, fellows, medical students, and staff involved in the care of patients with neurological diseases need to receive regular updates on new advances in neuroscience and neurological practice, especially with regard to epilepsy, stroke, ICU care, medical comorbidities, and cognitive screening.  The aim of the series is to expand clinical knowledge, increase competence, and improve implementation of clinical practice guidelines to enhance the quality of care and improve patient outcomes.


Educational Methods

Educational methods will include lectures, case presentations, literature review, and panel discussion.


Objectives

At the conclusion of the sessions, the participants should be able to:

  • Assess patients with neurological diseases using the most up-to-date techniques available.
  • Demonstrate understanding of the most recent scientific advances in a wide range of neurological disorders.
  • Evaluate the utility of the most novel therapeutic interventions for patients with neurological diseases.
  • Implement a wide spectrum of therapeutic interventions for patients with neurological diseases.
  • Recognize neurological disorders that place patients at high risk of cognitive impairment and in need of annual cognitive assessment.

Evaluation

Participants may be asked to complete a session evaluation.
