Target Audience and Needs

Physicians, residents, fellows, physician assistants, nurses, and other healthcare professionals in Pediatrics, Obstetrics, Pediatric Surgery, Perinatology, and Family Practice need to be regularly updated about research activities and the latest developments in diagnosis and treatment modalities in the Neonatology section.  The series aims to increase knowledge of the learners in these topic areas, and to improve their research planning and implementing skills, which will contribute to enhancing the quality of care and improve patient outcomes.


Educational Methods

Educational methods will include lectures and case presentations.


Objectives

At the conclusion of the sessions, the participants should be able to:

  • Assess basic and clinical research related to neonatology.
  • Assess new treatment modalities for application in clinical practice.
  • Evaluate ongoing research activities of the Section of Neonatology.
  • Analyze research activities in all areas, including physiology, literature, and design.
  • Identify a quality or process improvement gap, design studies or system process to improve the gap, implement the study/process, analyze data and metrics resulting from the study/process, and plan for further studies.

Evaluation

Participants may be asked to complete a session evaluation.
