Target Audience and Needs

Physicians, residents, fellows, physician assistants, and nurses in a pediatric or neonatology clinical setting need to be regularly updated on the advances in pathology of diseases in neonates, the natural history of diseases, issues in diagnostic pathology, and disease prevention.  The series aims to increase knowledge of the learners in these topic areas, and to enhance the quality of care and improve patient outcomes. 


Educational Methods

Educational methods will include lectures and case presentations.


Objectives

At the conclusion of the sessions, the participants should be able to:

  • Recognize key strategies for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases and/or disorders in neonates.
  • Discuss the current challenging cases in neonatology.
  • Examine the ethical and moral dilemmas that accompany the management of neonates with diseases and/or disorders.
  • Discuss cases that need a consultative opinion.

Evaluation

Participants may be asked to complete a session evaluation.
